Farewell and Thanks to Stuart Revell

7th November 2014

The Club was sad to say farewell to Stuart Revell back in 2014 who had been ETAFC's dedicated and very hard working Chairman over many years.

Stuart had been involved with the Club for about 15 years starting when he first moved to the area and his son Alex joined the U10’s.  He very quickly took on the role of leading the 'Heading for the Future' campaign which raised the funds for the development of the new pitches, clubhouse and equipment that we are all now enjoying.

Indeed, the Club owes a huge debt of gratitude to Stuart's enormous amount of commitment, energy and passion. He had been almost ever present at the club (some people even suspected he was sleeping there!) and his leadership and vision has been pivotal in the development of the Club and the huge progress we have made so far.

Peter Nottage who took over as Chairman, also has a long association with the Club.  Indeed Peter, who currently coaches the U6’s, actually formed the Junior section over 25 years ago and has continued to coach junior teams throughout this time. Peter, who is also the Club's Secrtry, commented, "Stuart was a very hard act to follow and we will definitely need to rely on the support and involvement of a broader range of people (coaches, committee and volunteers) to continue to drive the Club forward and build on the solid foundations Stuart had helped to lay.

If you think you can help the Club in any way (big or small) then please do talk to your coach or contact Peter on 01347 822948 or peternottage1957@gmail.com
