16th May 2015
Our end of season Club tournament has once again been a huge success. This year we had over 200 young players (boys and girls) from the ages of 5-16 competing in 5 groups of mixed age and ability teams that were managed and refereed by volunteer mums and dads. With a total of 55 matches played, most of the games were very even, which shows just how well balanced the teams were. After a series of competetitive matches, which were played in a very friendly spirit (as we have come to expect at our great club), medals were awarded to both the age group winners and runners-up. As well as the football we had a range of other activities for everyone, with a brisk trade in food and drink for kids and adults alike - once again manned by volunteer parents raising some welcome funds for the Club.
So a huge thank you to all the parents who came along to support and to the managers, referees and helpers who made the day possible. Particular thanks to Aisha Hepton, Rich Wells, Owen Scurrah-Smyth and Keith Guy who did the bulk of the organising/arranging. Also a big thank you to our groundsman, Nev Howell, who looked after all our pitches so well all season. If you and/or children would like to join our Club or become more involved please contact the coaches in the relevant age group or club chairman, Peter Nottage.
